Orchida Embroidery contains several features that make designing embroidery very easy and manageable. One is its Digitizing features which include the smart edge tool, automatic shapes, split creator, Lettering, magic wand, magic shapes, motif creator, etc. It also comes with editing features which allows users to navigate their designs as well as provides a tool set for handling stitches, shapes, etc. Editing features of this system include the different selection mode feature, deforming tools, the 3D stitch effect, copy, cutting and pasting tools, automatic borders, etc. It also comes with an image editor for scanning and opening image files, as well as lettering features.

It also allows users to view digitized designs and run through it stitch-by-stitch, examine embedded objects and simulate actual embroidery by viewing the design in 3D using various fabrics and different colored backgrounds.
