Avira operations is a suite of programs composed of products with comprehensive tools used to protect a user's computer from viruses, spywares, malwares, unwanted applications and other dangerous threats on the Internet. Their software features an Event Center, where management, monitoring and control of the entire program is done. It also has Central Preferences for users and event database logs. Their products provide a Real-Time Protection scanner that enables continuous monitoring of external and internal attempts to access files. Users can configure System Scanning to search for all types of viruses and malware in the computer, time for this scan can be configured by the user using an Integrated Scheduler that will also help plan for other recurring jobs like the system update. All products of Avira features an Integrated quarantine management for isolation and processing of suspicious files and threats. One of the distinct feature of all the products is the Innovative Scanning Technology and the Heuristic scanning method which has extremely high malware and virus detection capabilities by searching these threats through files and folders and writes a result back to the GUI from which the Real-Time Protection works in the background, monitoring all attempts to access files and puts a block in accessing infected diles. Avira products also monitor Archive files and detects smart extension and nested archives.
