GPSBabel transfigure tracks, waypoints and routes between mapping program and GPS receivers. It allows moving user’s waypoint data between hardware and programs selected. It includes widespread data manipulation enabling server-side processing or acts as a backend for other applications. It does not convert, send, transfer or manipulate maps instead it processes data that are placed on a map like tracks, routes and waypoints. GPSBabel runs on Microsoft Vista, XP and 7. Plus POSIX OSes like Linux, Solaris, Mac OS/X, FreeBSD and OpenBSD. GPSBabel 1.4.0 has new GUI and addition support for new hardware such as Bushnell, Wintec, Delorme PN-40 and PN-30. It has enhanced language translation in a dozen new formats. While in GPDBabel 1.4.3 version it includes delivery of several fixes in geocoaching, translations, KML improvements and support to new hardware and formats. Its 1.4.4 version delivers new formats and fixed several issues.

GPSEdit is software created for graphical authoring of GPS-maps in different cartographic formats like Garmin MapSource, Polish format, CityGuide the navigation software for Windows Mobile, Symbian, iPhone and Android, Navitel Navigator 3.x, Lowrance MapCreate, ALAN Map 500/600, Navikey 7 Ways, Holux MapShow, and edit POIs and speedcams used for iGO, Garmin POI Loader, Navitel Navigator and TomTom OV2. This program can also convert and load GPS-tracks, routes and waypoints in ALAN, Garmin, iGO Primo, Lowrance, iGO 8, GPX, Nokia, Holux and OziExplorer. Here is the list of other formats supported by this program: DBF, JPEG 2000, CSV, PNG, XLS, MDB, EXIF, BMP, MapInfo MIF/MID, ECW, GIF, TIFF, JPG, Google Maps and ESRI shapefile. In terms of platforms GPSedit runs on Windows 7, XP, Vista and MS Windows 2000.
