I use Internet Explorer as my browser and never experienced this before. My service provider says it is working fine from their end ,then why not on my pc.
Windows provides a built-in troubleshooter that can automatically find and fix some common connection problems.
Fix 1: built-in troubleshooter Open the Internet Connections troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Network and Internet, click Connect to the Internet.
Fix 2: The type of connection you have makes a difference The type of Internet connection you use is the most important factor in determining your connection speed. The three most common ways to connect to the Internet from home are dial-up, DSL, and cable. If you have a choice, cable is usually the fastest, but both DSL and cable are faster than dial-up. Many Internet providers also offer Fiber Optic Service (FiOS), which connects to the Internet using light over an optical network. In your home, you still connect your computer through copper wiring. The advantage of FiOS is that it can provide higher speeds than traditional copper wire connections such as DSL or cable. Some Internet providers offer multiple options, depending on the area you're in. More populated areas are more likely to have FiOS available. Check with your phone company or Internet provider for more information.
If you use a dial-up connection, there are a couple of good ways to optimize your Internet speed. First, use the fastest modem you can. The fastest modem you can use will send and receive information at a rate of 56 Kbps. You won't get a full 56 Kbps speed most of the time, but with a good phone line, you should approach at least 45-50 Kbps.
Second, make sure that your phone line is in good condition. If the telephone wiring in your home or business is old or deteriorating, you might be picking up stray signals or cross talk from other phone lines. These problems will slow your Internet connection because the modem will have to send the same information over and over until it's transmitted without interruption. Check your telephone wires to be sure they aren't damaged, frayed, or twisted around power or other telephone cables. If you notice crackling in your phones, you might want to contact your phone provider to have them check the lines inside and outside your home to make sure they are in good condition.
Fix 3: Tips for wireless network users When you're connecting to a wireless network (Wi‑Fi), your Internet connection speed can be affected by both where your computer is located and whether other wireless devices are in the same area. Wireless networks operate on frequencies that are similar to those used by other devices, such as microwave ovens or cordless phones. Operating a 2.4 gigahertz (GHz) cordless phone next to your 2.4 GHz wireless laptop can cause interference, or completely block the wireless network connection.
If you want to make phone calls while surfing the web, either use a wired telephone or a cordless phone that operates at a different frequency than your wireless network. Proximity to the wireless access point or router, as well as physical obstructions, can affect the quality of speed.
Fix 4: Delete Temporary Internet Files and Cookies Internet Explorer caches web pages you visit and cookies coming from those pages. While designed to speed up browsing, if left unchecked the burgeoning folders can sometimes slow IE to a crawl or cause other unexpected behavior. In general, the less is more principal works well here — keep the Internet Explorer cache small and clear it often. Here's how to clear your cache, or emptying your browser's history, in IE 11:
In Internet Explorer, select the Tools button, point to Safety, and then select Delete browsing history.
Choose the types of data or files you want to remove from your PC, and then select Delete.
Fix 5: Disable Add-Ons When it comes to IE, it seems everyone wants a piece of it. While legitimate toolbars and other BHOs are fine, some aren't so legit or their presence is questionable. Here's how to disable it in IE 11:
Open Internet Explorer, select the Tools button, and then select Manage add-ons.
Under Show, select All add-ons and then select the add-on you want to turn off.
Select Disable, and then Close.
Fix 6: Reset Start and Search Pages Spyware and adware often change your browser Start and Search pages to point to unwanted websites. Even if you've removed the infestation responsible, you may still need to reset the web settings. Here's how to reset the start and search pages in IE 11:
Close all Internet Explorer windows. Select the Tools button, and then select Internet options.
Select the Advanced tab, and then select Reset.
In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, select Reset.
When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, select Close, and then select OK. Restart your PC to apply changes.
Fix 7: Reset settings
Sometimes, despite our best efforts, something happens that causes Internet Explorer to become unstable. Here's how to reset your setting in IE 11 (please note that this is not reversible):
Close all Internet Explorer windows. Select the Tools button, and then select Internet options.
Select the Advanced tab, and then select Reset.
In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, select Reset.
When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, select Close, and then select OK. Restart your PC to apply changes.
Fix 8: Secure Internet Explorer Internet Explorer 11 has a built-in mechanism for controlling both. Here's how to block or allow cookies in IE 11:
In Internet Explorer, select the Tools button, and then select Internet options.
Select the Privacy tab, and under Settings, select Advanced and choose if you want to allow, block or be prompted for first and third party cookies.
To turn the pop-up blocker on or off in IE 11:
Open Internet Explorer, select the Tools button, and then select Internet options.
On the Privacy tab, under Pop-up Blocker, select or clear the Turn on Pop-up Blocker check box, and then select OK.
I kept getting the blue screen with Driver Power State Failure error message and then my computer would restart. I found your product and it did not happen any more. I just purchased an anti-virus (kaspersky) and now it is doing it again. It is so frustrating. My computer is only 6 months old. It is a Asus desktop.
