Can you please try two things:
1. Disable what ever security software you have running while you are installing Quicken.
2. Make sure that you are installing this application when you are logged in as the administrator of the computer. If you are already logged in as the administrator, try creating a second administrator account for your PC and use that account to install.
Let me know how you go with this!

Hi Allene,
In addition to Mark\'s suggestions, could you try installing Quicken 2011 using a different User Account on Windows? If you don\'t have one, you can go into the Control Panel, locate the User Accounts section and create a new Administrator account for your computer.
The reason I\'m suggesting this is because the Exit Code 1317 error can occur if the installer has trouble using your current User Account or creating a directory on the same.
A fresh install on a new user account will definitely help sort things out and prevent problems in the future.
But before you try the above suggestion, I recommend giving this solution a go:

Good luck and keep us posted!

I followed Mark\'s suggestions, and I finally got the program installed (from a CD, not the online download, both of which were available to me.) Thanks to both of you.
