Neurotix Defractor is a digital synthesizer with sample generator from Neorotix.com that saves generated sounds in a disk. Some digital synthesizers exist as “softsynth’ software that synthesizes sound and generates digital audio. Softsynth uses a personal computer and a fast CPU to obtain a latency response and create noise free sound samples similar to the digital equivalents. The synthesis engine used by the defractor is based on a custom algorithm, indicating that it is not an emulator of other synthesizers. The Sample Generator Engine is a 32-bit float core. It features 2 oscillators (12 mathematically generated waveforms and 1 custom), 2 Envelope Generators, Smoothing Filter, Pinch/ Punch Filter, Overdrive, Attenuator, and a Phase & Amplitude synchronizer. It uses a RAW waveform data to define the oscillators. The generated file is saved as DFC, RAW, DF2 (Defractor Instrument), WAV, or XI (fast tracker instrument). Neurotix Defractor is a freeware that runs on systems powered by Windows 95 or higher, Pentium class processors, and 8MB memory.
