ARJ is a file archiver that functions as a File Compressor which saves compressed files as an archiving file into the disk space. Its major features include, Windows 95, Windows 98 and Millenium long filename support and also has Windows style card support. After self-extracting a file, it has the ability to execute a command and can automatically handle more than 99 volumes. It has the capacity to process and archive up to 50,000 files in one time and has the archiving ability for registered support, at one time, of 260,000 files. With a single archive, it can store up to 250 backups and restore any specific backups. It is flexible when it comes to archiver usage and supports windows file date-time created and accessed. In storing data within the archive, ARJ offers a damage protection option and a more improved archive chapter and numerous volume support. It also features an ANSI escape sequence display handler, file version management and configurable command options.
