MechCAD Software developed AceMoney as personal finance management software for individuals and small businesses. Users don't buy a CD installer and pay for shipping or airfreight. Instead, they only buy the license, which they register through the software's trial version. Although it's mostly built for a Windows installation, the software also runs in Mac OS X through Virtual PC, which creates a Windows-like environment in the system. Files from Quicken, Microsoft Money, MS Excel, or OpenOffice Calc must be converted to QIF format before AceMoney can read the data. In addition, records of bank transactions can be downloaded directly from the bank's website and imported into the software through the Online Setup function. More than basic bookkeeping, this desktop application automatically computes and schedules the monthly payments for credit cards and mortgages. Only versions older than 4.20.1 are suitable for synchronization with AceMoney for PocketPC.
