A FlashBack screen recorder movie file is encoded with video content compression standards proprietary to Blueberry, and these FlashBack screen recorder movie files are stored in the FBZ format. These FBZ files are digital recordings of Microsoft Windows screens created by users of the BB FlashBack software. This program is classified as screen recorder software developed for computers running on Microsoft Windows-based systems. The content of an FBZ file include the digital video content of screen-captured events and activities recorded by the author of the FBZ movie file, and other details and digital effects can be added to the content of an FBZ file. These include metadata info associated to the videos, digital objects and images like arrows and text balloons, sound clips and other visual effects, and this can be done using the BB FlashBack program. The video content stored in an FBZ file can also be viewed using the BB FlashBack Free Player software, via its built-in video screen player integrated into the GUI (Graphical User Interface) of this application.

Blueberry FlashBack

Blueberry FlashBack

Blueberry FlashBack is a Windows-based recording program distributed by Blueberry Software. The Express edition is a freeware that can be used to cut and paste movie footage, add text effects and edit mouse movements, and it has a PowerPoint plug-in within the program installer. It has the capability to record from a webcam while doing screen recording, or import video files as picture-in-picture video. Recording of online events can be left unattended, and viewed or edited during playback. The editing functions facilitate creation of demo disks, tutorials, and presentations since revisions and enhancements are made easy by the undo and redo functions. The Pro Edition of Blueberry Flashback has a more powerful editor that allows editing of multi-track sound and video side-by-side. Created files can be exported to EXE, Flash, QuickTime (H264), MPEG4 (compatible with iPod/Pad/Phone), GIF, PPT, WMV, or AVI formats and can be uploaded to Revver, Blip.tv, Viddler and to YouTube.

a word of warning

Be careful not to rename the extension on .fbz files, or any other files. This will not change the file type. Only special conversion software can change a file from one file type to another.

what is a file extension?

A file extension is the set of three or four characters at the end of a filename; in this case, .fbz. File extensions tell you what type of file it is, and tell Windows what programs can open it. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically. When that program is no longer on your PC, you can sometimes get an error when you try to open the associated file.
