Microsoft Exchange Server 2010

Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 is a collaborative software from Microsoft Corporation that runs on the Windows Server operating system. Its can function as a mail server, a contact manager, and a calendaring software. Exchange Server 2010 has new features that enhance its efficiency. CCR, SCC, LCR, and site functionality SCR has been replaced by DAG (Data Availability Groups) to provide a higher level of availability for database (as opposed to server level availability). As a result database copies may be removed or added without requiring major reconfiguration of the server. Another feature is the use of Client Access Server (CAS) arrays. Multiple Client Access Servers are contained in an array, with a single identification in an Active Directory. Thus, faster client connection is effected by the single name endpoint. In previous editions of the Microsoft Exchange Server, a clustered mailbox server cannot be combined with another role. In Exchange Server 2010 users can combine the Mailbox Server Role with the Client Access Server and Hub Transport roles.

Apple Mail

Also called as Mail.app, Apple Mail is an email application that is integrated on Mac OS X computers. It was originally created and launched by NeXT, which was called as NeXTMail by then, but adapted by Apple for OS X operating system. This program mainly relies on three types of protocols which are SMTP, IMAP and POP3. It also supports other instant messaging applications such as AOL, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail and even MobileMe and Exchange through IMAP. The latest version available for download is Mail version 5 which was first introduced with Mac OS X 10.7 or Lion. This version has new and enhanced features such as the fullscreen user interfact that is similar to iPad, a unique message search interface, group message option by Subject and the support for IMAP Yahoo! Mail and Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. Messages sent and received using this version are in plain text format, but there is an option to formal when using an email through the text edition tools.

Brooktrout Fax

Dialogic Brooktrout Fax Service Provider Software or the Brooktrout FSP is integrated with Microsoft Fax Service and other Dialogic Brooktrout Fax Products, to provide a secure fax resource for small offices, small and medium businesses. It securely sends faxes directly from desktops, and fazes are received directly into e-mail inboxes. It uses either TDM or Fax over IP (FoIP) technology to send and receive faxes, when integrated with Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and the Dialogic FoIP technology, using an Active Directory lookup incoming faxes are directly sent into the user’s e-mail account in DID. DID is the Active Directory-based routing of inbound faxes which allows administration of fax-to-email information without additional procedures. The software has OS support for Windows XP Professional, Windows 7 32- and 64-bit, Windows Server 2003 Family 32 and 64-bit, Windows Server 2008 Family 32 and 64-bit, Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit. However, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Fax Partner inbound routing is not supported by Windows XP or Windows 7. The Microsoft Fax Service is included with Windows Server® and the Windows® XP Professional.
