A Debian package file is created for the use of an open source operating system called Debian, and this open source OS was developed based on the Linux kernel. The content of a Debian package file is integrated with source code compilation standards deployed by the Debian open source operating system, and these Debian package files are also implemetned with encoding specifications used for storing the data of a Debian package file in the UDEB format. Affixed with the .udeb extension, these Debian package files contain a few program files required by certain Linux-based applications, and these Debian package files are usually implemented in bootstrapped Debian operating systems. Traditional Debian open source operating systems are not implemented with support for using these Debian package files. The UDEB file format was initially developed for the Debian open source operating system to only require a minimal number of developer files with each application installed in this Linux-based operating system.

what is a file extension?

A file extension is the set of three or four characters at the end of a filename; in this case, .udeb. File extensions tell you what type of file it is, and tell Windows what programs can open it. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically. When that program is no longer on your PC, you can sometimes get an error when you try to open the associated file.
