MartView

MartView is an image viewer that can open comic books, manga, and magazines in CBR and CBZ formats, but it can also read eBooks in PDF. The software has a built-in converter for turning PDFs, JPG and PNG images, and the RAR and ZIP archives into the proprietary MART format. This Windows-based e-reader can slide and jump through the pages or zoom in on a block of text or an image. The reader can be used with tablets and smartphones with touchscreen displays as long as they run on Windows OS. MartView has an online library where users may freely upload and download electronic copies of popular novels, textbooks, lifestyle magazines, graphic novels, literary classics, indie publications, user manuals, and product catalogs. Users can have these files without paying a cent, but they must download them from inside the application.

a word of warning

Be careful not to rename the extension on .mart files, or any other files. This will not change the file type. Only special conversion software can change a file from one file type to another.

what is a file extension?

A file extension is the set of three or four characters at the end of a filename; in this case, .mart. File extensions tell you what type of file it is, and tell Windows what programs can open it. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically. When that program is no longer on your PC, you can sometimes get an error when you try to open the associated file.
