This problem started when I had the free upgrade to windows 8!
The factory windows is Windows 7.
Now ever since the update it cannot boot to the login.
I can get into the BIOS & configurations on start-up & if I try to initiate automatic repair, by pressing Shift+F8 on start-up it does not seem to progress as the HDD displays an Unmountable disc volume error!
I am looking to completely factory reset/restore but I do not have any recovery discs!
I do have an usb to ide adaptor & spare HDD drives to create a brand new drive but I cannot find a source to download such recovery or formatting media for my Lenovo Z570 IdeaPad.
There is a recovery partition built into our HDDs. To access it, press F11 while booting the unit . It should starting loading Rescue and Recovery (R&R) for you Depending on which version of R&R you have, you will either see a Menu on the left for options, or you will see 3 large icons on the screen. If you see the screen with the large icons, look on the bottom left and click on "Launch Advanced Rescue and Recovery" On the main menu, click on "Restore Your System" under the Rescue and Restore subheading If you see the warning about connecting the USB device just click OK On the next screen select "I do not want to save any files" Follow the rest of the steps on the screens. Be sure to choose "Full Factory" on the last screen This process will reload Windows on the unit. You do not need the RCDs if the partition is still there.
I have the similar issue with Lenovo a few days ago. Yesterday, I made contact with the Outlook Support Number team and my problem gets resolved quickly. You may contact them for the quick solution.
When I connect an external microphone to the jack, it is not working. I can see it in the "Sound" tab, but the levels is very low. I have tried with several microphones.
