If you are having low internet speed, please follow the below steps.

Fix 1: Reinstall the Adapter
This could be a problem with your network adapter. Reinstall the network adapter to fix your problem. This step will make you disconnected from the internet so be sure to print the page before following.

• Click the Start button on your Taskbar.
• Start screen shall appear. Move your cursor on the right hand side of your screen to focus on the Search box.
• Type Control Panel in the Search box. Click Apps icon.
• Click Control Panel from the Search Results.
• In the new Control Panel window, scroll down and click More Settings.
• Click View Network Status and Tasks under Network and Internet category.
• Click Change Adapter Settings on the left hand side.
• Right click your network adapter, select Disconnect. Again right click it and select Delete.
• Restart your computer. Repeat the Steps 1-3 again.
• Type Device Manager in the Search box. Click Settings icon.
• In the Device Manager window, right click the computer name appearing at the top of the list. Select Scan for hardware changes.
• Your computer shall automatically recognize your network adapter. Follow instructions on your screen, if any.

Fix 2: Update Wi-Fi Drivers
The drivers which are currently installed on your system can be out-of-date. For getting most of your Wi-Fi internet connection it is important to have updated drivers. Follow these instructions:

• Visit the Wi-Fi Internet Service Provider website
• Click the Downloads section.
• Click Drivers, choose your operating system and its version and download them to your desktop. (For example: SP54360.exe)
• Open Device Manager as mentioned under Reinstall the Adapter section.
• Expand Network Adapters. Right click your network adapter and select Update Driver Software.
• In the new dialog click browse my computer for driver software.
• Click Browse button. Select the file you have downloaded to your Desktop.
• Click OK. After successful completion, click Close button.

Fix 3: Optimize Wi-Fi Internet Settings
To make your Wi-Fi internet run faster on Windows 8 it is important to optimize your network settings and configurations.

• Download and install RegInOut
• Click Start button on your Taskbar.
• Start Screen shall appear.
• Click to focus on the Search box on the right hand side.
• Type RegInOut System Utilities in the Search box.
• Click it from the result.
• Click the Internet Optimizer tab on the left.
• Specify your internet speed as Slow.
• Click Analyze and then Optimize button.

Fix 4: Disable Global Auto-Tuning Feature
Global Auto-Tuning is related with the data transfer for HTTP traffics. You might be experiencing slowed Wi-Fi internet problem if the Auto-Tuning feature is not working properly. Simply disable it as follows:

• Click the Start button on your Taskbar.
• Start screen shall appear.
• Move your cursor on the right hand side of your screen to focus on the Search box.
• Type Command Prompt in the Search box. Click Apps icon.
• Right click Command Prompt from the Search Results.
• Click Run as Administrator icon on the bottom of your screen.
• Type following commands one by one: cd C:\Windows\System32 netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled netsh interface tcp show global
• Does it show Auto-Tuning is disabled? If yes, you have performed everything properly. Otherwise, you need to check-out the commands you have written and try again.
• Finally type EXIT and press ENTER.

Fix 5: Uninstall Remote Differential Compression API Support
Remote Differential Compression (RDC) is a Windows Feature. It can make your Wi-Fi run slow. Uninstall it as below:

• Open Control Panel as mentioned under Reinstall the Adapter section.
• Click Programs.
• Click Turn Windows Features On or Off under Programs and Features.
• Uncheck the box named Remote Differential Compression API Support.
• Click OK. Let the process finish.

Fix 6: Clear DNS
DNS refers to Dynamic Name System. It’s a hierarchical distributed naming strategy in Windows 8. Clear the DNS Cache to optimize Wi-Fi speed on Windows 8:

• Open Command Prompt as mentioned under Disable Global Auto-Tuning Feature section.
• Type the following command and press ENTER: IPCONFIG  /FLUSHDNS
• After the command is executed, please type EXIT and press ENTER.
